Cayley Medal Award for Oli Viviani Giawa
Oli Viviani Giawa, Grade 10 of Filiasofia High School entitles a Cayley Medal Award as a result of 2020 Cayley Contest conducted by The Centre of Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC), University of Waterloo, Canada and the Risk Management, Economic Sustainability and Actuarial Science Development in Indonesia (READI) project on February 26, 2020..
7 students of Filiasofia High School were among 22,445 participants from 1,413 schools all over the world.

Cayley Medal had been received by Filiasofia High School and presented to Oli Viviani Giawa by Ibu Jessy Analisa, the Principal, on November 16, 2020.

We thank God for the achievements reached by Armando Hutapea and Ruben Miracle Imanuel as the 1st winner of Duet Guitar Competition and by Joys Manuella Simanjuntak as the 3rd winner of Poster Design Competition of Pekanbaru City Junior High School FLS2N. Through the process, Armando, Ruben, Joys, and Shine Gloria Renata who participated in the Singing Competition experienced the meaning of tenacity, perseverance, discipline, and hard work during this pandemic situation. Thank you for all support, effort, and cooperation among parents/care givers and teachers/staff in training our children. Soli Deo Gloria.

Concerning the COVID-19 situation (Corona virus), starting March 16, 2020 Filiasofia School implemented home learning through various media/tools including virtual classroom, cross-platform messaging, and e-mail. In this situation the benefits of full support and good cooperation between parents and educators are felt, including in various assessments/evaluations of learning. We are so thankful and grateful seeing students earnestly take exams and learn from home by applying Filiasofia School values, including: Fear of God, Eager to Learn, Excellence, and Integrity.
Praise God, the Early Childhood, Elementary, Junior, and Senior High School students have graduated. All of the students will move to the next stage/level in the new Academic Year 2020/2021 starting July 13, 2020. 3rd Place National Duet Guitar Championship FLS2N JHS
Give thanks to God, Abraham Stephanus (Bram) and Maryota Eklesia (Mario) won the third place of 2019 National Duet Guitar Championship of FLS2N for Junior High School held in Banten on 16 - 20 September 2019. On July 17th, 2019 Bram and Mario won the first place of 2019 Duet Guitar Championship of FLS2N for Junior High Schools in Riau Province. We thank Pak David O. Sitompul as their Music teacher who coached them for these competitions. We thank Kemdikbud with Dinas Pendidikan, parents and family, educators, and Filiasofia school community for their support. Teachers Training on Mathematics Learning had been conducted on January 28 - 29, 2019 by Bapak Dicky Susanto, Ed.D that included Mathematics Learning Paradigm in Industry 4.0 Era, Effective Mathematics Learning Principles, and promoting thinking and reasoning.
Science and Art Seminar/Workshop for Parents and Students by Ibu Marianna M. Radjawane, M.Si and Bapak Setiyoko Hadisutanto, S.Sn had been conducted on February 2, 2019. A learning opportunity to develop knowledge and skills to manage the earth and to bless others.

Putra Pengabdi (The Boys' Brigade in Indonesia) Branch 2 Pekanbaru conducted a drill camp on 17 - 18 November 2017, participated by Filiasofia students from grade 4 to 9. The objective of this drill camp is to train and build life skills, including discipline, independence, team work, leadership, creativity, and marching orders skills. with personal relationship with God and obedience as the foundation. Guided by Filiasofia educators as the Captain and Officers, the students were primarily trained by team from Northern Sumatera District 1, Medan. The program includes devotions, Marching Orders training and test, Talent Night, and briefing on Putra Pengabdi uniform. After the drill camp, a meeting was conducted to determine about next semester target. Praise God that the program went well. We thank all who have involved and supported this program.

Entering the Academic Year 2017/2018, the Filiasofia School Educators attended Curriculum Workshop on 3 - 7 July 2017, continued with Educators Training by Bapak Medhi and Ibu Ruth Widjaja on 12 - 15 July 2017. Besides to improve the quality of educators and Filiasofia School Curriculum, the objective of these workshop and training is also to improve coordination and collaboration among the educators in teaching and learning process.

Preceded by the Flag Ceremony, singing the Indonesia Raya National Anthem, and a Service, the INAUGURATION OF PUTRA PENGABDI RIAU BRANCH 2 had been held on the Filiasofia School on March 30, 2017 with the inauguration of BB Chaplain, Captain, Officers, and the Members by Pdm. Yofinter Syam. The event was attended by the Brigade Secretary of Putra Pengabdi Indonesia, Bapak Mario Andreas, representatives of Putra Pengabdi Branch 1 Riau, teachers and staff, and parents of BB Junior and BB Senior students.

Effective January 2, 2017 Filadelfia School in Pekanbaru officially changed its name to Filiasofia. Filiasofia, which is a combination of filia and sofia means loving wisdom - is in accordance with the foundation of the establishment of this school (Daniel 12:3). May this School always walk in God's way and wisdom..

Abigail Hutagalung (Grade 3) and Jeremy (Grade 4) represented SD Filiasofia in solo singing competition of FLS2N (National Student Art Festival and Competition of Pekanbaru City. Abigail and Jeremy had demonstrated extraordinary effort and seriousness through very short preparations and had done their best. Abigail won the fourth place of female participants category. Visit to Riau Governor's and the Regional Parliament Offices.
Accompanied by their teachers, on March 2nd, 2017, the 7th and 8th grade students visited the Riau Governor's Office. On March 9, 2017, students from grade 7-9 went to the Riau Provincial Parliament. School as part of and an inseparable community from the government, need to know the existing government and government system. This is in line with the subject matter of Citizenship and Social Studies in the Junior High School. We were so grateful having the opportunity for a direct dialogue with the government and people's representatives on some issues around the government, people's welfare, and education in Pekanbaru City and Riau Province. On 17 November 2016, four teachers, i.e. Bapak Dony Martua, S.P, Ibu Ivanali Pitaloka Sembiring, S.Si, Bapak Kristian Sitepu, S.Pd, and Ibu Osty Deslina Sitinjak, S.I.Kom had formally completed ACSI CEC Teacher Certification Program and attended the graduation ceremony at SPH Sentul, Bogor. All had completed eight modules, each with reading, reflection, and paper assignment. The modules were “Foundation and Philosophy of Christian School Education”, “Bible Background and Biblical Foundation”, “Curriculum Theory and Development”, “Current Trends in Education”, “Models of Teaching”, “Human Development, Learning, and Early Childhood Education”, “Teaching Exceptional Learner”, and “Evaluation of Learning”. In the end of the program each one delivered a teaching clinic and attended reflectional retreat. Congratulations to Bapak and Ibu, may the valuable knowledge and skills bless the world of education. 30th Anniversary of Putra Pengabdi and Boys' Brigade Asia 2nd Officers Fellowship
Bapak Ronald Nadeak, M.Pd (BB Captain) and Bapak Marwan SImanjuntak, S.Pd (BB Officer) attended the 30th Anniversary of Putra Pengabdi and BB Asia 2nd Officers Fellowship in Medan and Toba on 4 - 7 November 2016. This meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of BB in Asia. Parents and Educators Seminar and Meeting were held on 23 July 2016. Ibu Dra, Rumondang Napitu, Psychologist shared a topic on communication that is closely related to the uniqueness of each person - child, parent, or educator - created in the image of God.
Scouting: Boys' (and Girls') Brigade (Putra Pengabdi)
Preceded by Basic Officer Training Course for educators on July 11-12, 2016, facilitated by Bapak Mario Andreas, Brigade Secretary of Putra Pengabdi Indonesia, the Boys' (and Girls') Brigade activity has been started on August 4, 2016 as a mandatory extracurricular activity for grade 4 to 9 students. Boys' Brigade is the oldest scouting organization in the world for young people. The objective of this program is to introduce God's kingdom to young people and to build Christ characters, including obedient, respectful, discipline, and confident. Its motto is "Sure and Steadfast". People Development in Jakarta Six Elementary and Junior High School teachers had the opportunity to take and conduct some people development activities in Jakarta on 10-11 June 2016, i.e. visiting Calvin Christian School, visiting "Sophilia Fine Art Center" museum, participating in "Foundation and Philosophy of Christian School Education" CEC class delivered by Dr. David Wilcox, and attending Violin Concert "Sibelius & Dvorak" at Aula Simfonia. Sex Education and Teen Sexuality Seminar Sex Education seminar for grade 6 to 8 students and Teen Sexuality seminar for parents were held on 28 May 2016, delivered by Ibu Esther Tjandrawijaya, MA and Pekanbaru Counseling Care Community team. Discussion topics included "Who Am I?", Sexuality Holiness, Media Challenges, Group Counseling, and Love Language Test. Parents Seminar on "Being God's Partner, Protecting and Educating His Heritage" was held on 14 May 2016, delivered by Ibu Amy Iwani, Ed. D, attended by around 80 parents and educators. 2016 Kuark Science Olympiad (OSK 2016) 29 Filadelfia elementary school students joined the semifinal of 2016 Kuark Science Olympiad on 23 April 2016 which took place at As-Shofa School, Pekanbaru. The semifinal was simultaneously participated by 36,620 students (of 92,877 participants in the preliminary round) in 190 districts/cities throughout Indonesia. This year, OSK's theme is the Environment with the objective to improve the scientific literacy of Indonesian people in order to address the 21st century's challenges. Science Fair Grade 1-8 Science Fair has been held on Saturday, 9 April 2016. Through experiment, observation, programming, and presentation students learned about their role as creative persons created in the image of God and were mandated to manage God's creations for His glory. National Student Art Competition Festival SD Filadelfia won the third place of Festival Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (elementary schools choir competition) of Payung Sekaki district on Wednesday, 23 March 2016. Payung Sekaki District Early Childhood Education Festival Filadelfia Early Childhood Education participated in Payung Sekaki District Early Childhood Education festival on Thursday and Saturday, 25 and 27 February, and Wednesday, 2 March 2016 that was participated by 28 Kindergarten and 26 Early Childhood Education schools. The activities included several competitions, parade, and performances. Filadelfia students won the third place and second place of Early Childhood and Kindergarten boys singer competitions. Filadelfia students also participated in the parade and performed a dance. Maths Training for Teachers Community in Pekanbaru and for Parents Ibu Marianna M. Radjawane, M. Si. delivered a maths training for teachers community in Pekanbaru on Saturday, 20 February 2016. This training was also attended by parents. Human Development, Learning, and Early Childhood Education Course Four SD and SMP teachers attended Teacher Certification Program course on "Human Development, Learning, and Early Childhood Education" delivered by Ibu Jane Savitri, M. Si., Psychologist in Jakarta, 12-13 February2016. Learning from Ibu Faythe Pearson and Ibu Amy Iwani, Ed. D. On 4 and 5 February 2016 teachers/staff had a wonderful opportunity to learn from a senior teacher, Ibu Faythe Pearson about "Games for Learning" and "Effective Teaching". Ibu Faythe was accompanied by Ibu Amy Iwani, Ed.D (Sekolah Filadelfia Consultant) who delivered another training session about classroom supervision and self assessment principles with Biblical integration.
